PDF compressor
Choose a PDF and a compression method. Processing happens in your browser, then a private output copy is stored and the file is ready to download.
Choose a PDF
One PDF between 1 KB and 50 MB. Select it from your device or drag and drop it here.
How the tool works
- 01Choose a file
The tool accepts one PDF up to 50 MB and checks its type and size first.
- 02Choose a method
Safe mode preserves document structure; scan modes process pages one at a time.
- 03Download the result
Your browser creates the result for download, then one output copy is stored privately.
What happens to your file?
Your browser reads the file locally and creates the new copy in device memory. We do not upload the file, its name, its contents or the result, and no public link is created. Access ends when you close the page.
Quality and text
Safe mode rewrites the PDF with modern object streams while preserving text and links. Scan modes turn every page into a JPEG; text remains visible but loses selection, search and copy and may soften when zoomed.
- Always keep the original file until you have checked the result.
- Open the output and zoom into numbers and signatures to check sharpness.
- If you need searchable or copyable text, use Safe mode only.
- Try one level and compare size and clarity before using the output.
Privacy and storage
Processing runs in your browser. When complete, the output copy, file name and operation sizes are stored in private, non-public storage.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file or the result uploaded?
Processing happens in your browser, then a private output copy is stored in a non-public bucket. Visitors cannot browse or download it.
What happens after I close the page?
The in-memory copy is released. The privately archived output remains subject to the site privacy policy.
Does text stay selectable or searchable?
Yes in Safe mode. In scan modes, text becomes part of the page image and loses search and selection.
Does every file get smaller?
No. Some files are already optimized. If the result is not smaller, the tool returns the original rather than creating a larger copy.
What file limits apply?
One PDF between 1 KB and 50 MB. Password-protected or damaged files may fail.
Is the tool free and does it need an account?
Yes. It is completely free and needs no account or sign-up.
