Good to know
- Pages are copied into the new document as-is without re-compression, so their original quality is preserved.
- Deleting removes a page from the result only; your original file on your device is not modified.

- Keep the original file until you open the result and confirm the order and rotations.
- The result downloads as organized.pdf and one private copy is stored in a non-public bucket.
How to organize pages

Move any page earlier or later, rotate it 90° clockwise, or delete the pages you do not need.

pdf-lib builds a new PDF in the order shown on screen, and it downloads automatically as organized.pdf.
What happens to your file?
Pages are read and rendered in your browser, then pdf-lib rebuilds the document in your chosen order and applies rotations. Pages are copied as-is, and one private copy of the exported result is stored after processing.
Digital signatures
Re-saving the file invalidates any digital signature, because verification depends on the original file bytes staying unchanged. The signature stays visible as part of the page, but it is no longer valid for verification after export — so use the tool on unsigned copies, or sign after you finish organizing.
Protected files
The tool does not decrypt password-protected files; it shows a clear error and stops. Open the file with its password and save an unprotected copy first, then try organizing again.
Before exporting
- Check the thumbnail order before exporting; the result follows exactly what you see on screen.
- Review the direction of rotated pages, since rotation is applied to the page in the exported file.
- Very large or many-page files can exhaust browser memory; work in batches if rendering struggles.
- Open the result and check the first and last pages before sending it or deleting the original.
Frequently asked questions
Do digital signatures stay valid after export?
No. Re-saving the file invalidates the digital signature because the file bytes change, even if page content stays the same. The signature remains visible on the page but is no longer valid for verification.
Can I organize a password-protected PDF?
No. Remove the protection first by opening the file with its password and saving an unprotected copy; the tool does not decrypt files and cannot accept protected ones.
Does page quality or text change?

Can I edit page text or add comments?
